AUDITIONS!!

Yes, it’s that time again... Auditions for the next panto!

If you’re aged between 7 and 15 then you need to turn up at 2:30pm on the 7th September. If you’re older you need to attend the session on Sept 14th at the same place.

Like usual, you will need to wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for moving or dancing in. If you want a main part, here are the audition pieces that we’ll use.

We look forward to seeing you there

Everyone involved in Red Riding Hood including all actors, crew, helpers, ticket sellers, chaperones, all parents of children in the show are invited to the AGM in the Village Hall on the 14th April at 8:00pm.

It’s important to come as this meeting will mark the end of the 2008 panto (and it’s also a good place to meet up again and share a drink... Provided of course). The purpose of the AGM is to go over the show, check the finances, offer suggestions and elect the committee for the next production (and choose the director, panto to do, agree audition dates, etc.)

We hope to see you all there.

It's started! The panto rehearsals are now underway, but that doesn't mean that you are too late to take part... just contact us here (use the button on the left of the page) or pop into the village hall during rehearsals (Sundays 2:30 - 5pm) and introduce yourself. We're always looking for backstage or production people if you don't fancy the limelight, especially if you can hold a paintbrush or screwdriver, or can manage a sewing needle or machine.

It's official... the panto for our 60th birthday will be 'Red Riding Hood' to commemorate our very first panto in 1948. It promises to be an action-packed, fun-filled roller-coaster ride through a traditional tale for all the family. There's plenty of parts and we hope to have plenty of cameos from past members to make this a show to remember! We'd also like to dedicate this production to our late chair, Julia Igglesden who passed away this weekend.

You should all have now received your AGM letters. For those of you who don't know what this is about... read on.

Even though the Panto feels like ages ago, it doesn't end until after the AGM. This means that you're all still members and can come and have your say about how it was, how much it cost, what the profit was (if any!), who should be running the show...etc. It's also a great time to meet up with all the friends you made. We will also be selling the DVD of the show (only £5 this year!) as well as a CD of all the photos (200ish hi-quality) for another £5. You can also find out more about the new show and the details about the auditions.

See ya there!

Congratulations to everyone involved... it was a fantastic show! It's not over yet though... photos will shortly be available on this site and you will be able to buy them and the DVD as soon as it's available. Also, the panto doesn't formally end until the AGM in March and you're all invited. This is where you get the feedback, reviews, photos, etc. and where we begin next year's show... our 60th year!

____________

A new rehearsal schedule has been published. You must read this as there are important changes

____________

IMPORTANT REMINDER... All costumes and costume items that you have been asked to provide need to be brought to the rehearsal on the 18th December. At this rehearsal additional costumes will be handed out and these will need to be adjusted to your child, named, and elastics and fasteners attached.

Thanks to everyone for coming along to the auditions. You should all have received your invites to join the company of Sinbad the Sailor, and we'd appreciate it if you could return them to us as soon as possible.

The main casting is complete (there will be more opportunities for others as we rehearse) and the initial read-thru for the principals will begin on Sunday September 17th at 6:30pm. The main rehearsals will then begin on Sunday 1st October at the Village Hall from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. These will continue at the same time at the same place each Sunday. It's important for you all to attend. If there are any dates you can't make, please complete the rehearsal schedule and bring it with you.
